How it works

Pre dining

Upon arrival at Noir. Dining in the Dark, our staff will escort you to the lounge area. Here, the concept and the dining process will be described in detail by our staff while you enjoy a signature surprise cocktail to begin this sensory experience. A wide selection of other fine beverages is also available. Take part in some amusing activities to relax before heading to the dining area.

If you are vegetarian or have any other dietary restrictions, please let the staff know when you make your reservation and reconfirm this upon arrival.

Before proceeding to the completely dark dining area, we will ask that you place all light emitting objects, such as mobile phones, watches, lighters, and cameras into a secure locker. This is to improve the dining experience for all of our guests. Lockers are provided free of charge and are monitored by camera at all times to ensure your security.

We also suggest that you visit the restroom before entering the dining area, as leaving the area mid-meal may dilute the overall experience for you.

Dining

Your guide will lead you into the dining area and to your seat and describe what is on your table. It will feel unusual and you may want to whisper at first. Your guide will serve our exquisite, multi-course mystery menu at this time. You may also order any additional beverages during this time if you wish. If you are vegetarian or have any other dietary restrictions, please remind your guide as they serve you to ensure that there is no confusion and you receive your intended meal.

If you need your guide at any time, please call them by their first name and they will attend to you promptly. If you need to use the toilet, or feel uncomfortable in the darkness, call your guide’s name and they will help escort you out of the dining area.

For the safety of our guides and other guests, please do not leave your seat in the dining area unless your guide is accompanying you.

Post dining

After you have completed your last course, your guide will escort you and your party out of the darkened dining area. It may take a few moments for your eyes to adjust to light, so you may want to look down or shield your eyes for a few moments. This is normal. Once back in the lounge, our staff will give you pictures and descriptions of the dishes you had for dinner. It is a very interesting experience to compare your impressions to the actual dishes. Additional beverages, including surprise cocktails, will also be available at this time.

At this point, it is time to say farewell and we surely hope that you had a one of a kind sensory experience at Noir. Dining in the Dark. Be sure to share this experience with your friends and family as well.

Before you leave, remember to collect your belongings from your locker.

Dos and Don’ts

Do come with an open mind to explore this exciting sensory experience.
Do be prepared to give up your sense of sight for a short time.
Do come prepared to leave your phone and other light emitting devices in a secure locker.

Don’t be concerned being in complete darkness, our guides are here to assist you.
Don’t worry about eating in the dark, you will become accustomed to it before you know it.
Don’t forget to make reservations beforehand to ensure seating availability.

Please bear in mind that when the sense of sight is taken away, other senses are highlighted, for example hearing. This means whilst in the dining room, it seems people talk louder, actually this is not the case, you just focus on it more. Hence we would like to ask our guests to be considerate to other diners in the room and keep their voices at a reasonable level.
